  • How Old Do You Have to Be to Get a Private Pilot Certificate?

There is no age requirement to start training. However, you are permitted to fly solo under supervision at the age of 16. You must be 17 to test for your Private Pilot License. We recommend not starting flight training until you are 15.

  • How Often Can I Fly?

You can train as much or as little as you like! However, optimal training is three times a week. The minimum recommended is twice a week. We can fly to fit your schedule; just coordinate with one of our instructors.

  • Will I Need to Pass a Physical Before I Can Fly?

Yes, an aviation medical examiner will administer a physical similar to a normal athletic physical to test your eyes, hearing, blood pressure, and so on. Once this is completed, they will issue you a medical certificate. This is required before conducting solo flight operations.

If your goal in aviation is to fly professionally as a career, I would advise you to inform the examiner of this and obtain a first-class medical.

Any additional questions should be directed to a medical examiner. You can find one on this website.
